Hestan Culinary Receives Notable Industry Accolade for Thomas Keller Insignia Collection
Premium Cookware Collection Receives 2022 Red Dot Award for Excellence in Product Design
NAPA VALLEY, Calif. (May 23, 2022) – Hestan Culinary, the premium cookware brand designed with thoughtful innovation and meticulous craftsmanship for a lifetime of high-quality performance, is proud to announce it has received a 2022 Red Dot Product Design Award for its Thomas Keller Insignia Collection. This prestigious recognition joins Hestan Culinary’s list of industry accolades, including the 2021 Red Dot Award for excellence in product design for its ProBond and CopperBond collections, further validating the brand’s commitment to setting the standard for professional culinary performance.
Informed and influenced by Chef Thomas Keller’s 27 years helming America’s most acclaimed restaurants, Hestan Culinary’s Insignia Collection was created with both top chefs and home cooks in mind. Chef Keller designed and curated the cookware to elevate the cooking experience and deliver exceptional performance with beautiful durability.
Innovative features such as the seamless fit handle help to eliminate food buildup and minimize heat transfer. “In the kitchen, beauty lies in utility, which is why we sought out to solve problems within the cookware space when creating this collection. Bespoke details such as the no-gap handle, which rests comfortably in hand and offers a more practical angle for lifting, has quickly become a favorite with both chef and home-cook communities alike,” said Chef Keller.
Dating back to the 1950s, the Red Dot Award for Product Design recognizes products for their outstanding design achievements and innovations. This year, designers, design offices, and manufacturers from around 60 countries entered products in the Product Design category. The Red Dot Jury was comprised of 48 judges from 23 countries made up of consultants, designers, and journalists. The jurors considered and assessed each entry in search of outstanding design achievements and product innovations.
“This cookware owes its high functionality to a coherently thought-out design concept and is also pleasing on account of its elegant, sinuous lines,” said the Red Dot Jury.
The award-winning Thomas Keller Insignia Collection also contains the following key features:
- Carefully curated 7-piece and 11-piece sets include everything to create an elevated culinary experience
- Sealed rims for durability that will never split, and flared rims for drip-free pouring of sauces and reductions
- Large-diameter bases to allow for greater performance and conduction on any heat source, including gas, electric, or induction
- Available for sauté pans, the TITUM™ Non-Stick is made without PFOAs and reinforced with diamonds and titanium for optimal performance
- Delivers 35% greater heat conductivity with its durable tri-ply construction, combining high grade stainless steel with exclusive ProCore™ aluminum
- Universal lids to eliminate clutter and reduce manufacturing waste
“We’re thrilled to be recognized by Red Dot for our Insignia collection with industry leader Chef Keller,” said Stanley Cheng, Hestan Culinary’s Founder and CEO. “We worked closely with Chef Keller to bring his vision to life, creating a collection that marries state-of-the-art craftsmanship with exceptional durability to offer the highest standard of culinary performance. This collection seeks to innovate the cookware space, including the no-gap handle, an engineering marvel in itself.”
The Red Dot award ceremony will take place on June 20, 2022 in Essen, Germany. Comprised of two events, the Red Dot Gala will be held in the Aalto Theater and the Designers’ Night will be held at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen. Over one thousand guests travel from all over the world to attend this honorary gala of international design and celebrate the year’s best design achievements.
